Hey everyone,
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. I have been very busy making last minute Valentine's Day projects. Today I made this card for my cousin to give to her boyfriend. She wanted something very simple with red, black & white. This is what I came up with and I really like the way it turned out ...she did too! Not sure if you can tell in the pic but the top layer of the martini glass is a piece of the plastic casing that the ciruct cartridges come in. I cut the plastic casing flat, removing all the sides and ran it through my cricut for the image. This was the first time I had tried this and I'm glad I did. It gave the image the effect that it was glass. I used my regular cricut blade and used a pressure of 6. I did have to run it through twice since the first time it didn't cut all the way through. So glad that I saved those plastic casings! So here is a list of all the items used:
The card is 5x7
- Plastic Packaging from Cricut Cartridges
- Carts Used: Nifty Fifties (Martini & Layers @ 4.75") and Doodlecharms (Heart - Pimento @1.25")
- Solid & Metallic Paper: Recollections
- Jim Holtz Distress Ink: Peeled Paint
- Sizzix Embossing Folder
- Xyron Machine
- DecoArt: Glamour Dust in Crystal
- Ribbon: Joann's Valentine Section
- Sentiment: Computer Generated
- EK Success: "Shimmering Pink Hearts" - Mini Hearts on Sentiment
Stop by again, real soon =0)
The card is awesome! I'm all about recycle, but I never thought to use the plastic packaging. What a clever idea. TFS!

This is great!! Love the heart in the olive pit. What a good recycler you are. Good to know that the regular blad worked. I am always so afraid to try. Keep telling myself I need to pick up a deep cut blade.
ReplyDeleteThis is so adorable!!! You are very creative :) Once again, great job!!!
