Celebrate Freedom

Happy Independence Day everyone! I'm sure you have all had a fun filled day with family and friends!! Here in South Florida it has been HOT HOT HOT!! We had a little cook out and now we are getting ready to see fireworks in the neighborhood.  So, while it was blazing hot outside earlier this afternoon.  I found refuge inside with the nice cool a/c and thought let me play with my Cameo.  I mainly use my Cricut for my projects (I guess I'm just used to it) but I thought what the heck.  Here I am lucky to have both and I have only used it once before today, and I have had it since Valentine's Day!   Yes, I know...gasp!!! But, I'm so glad I decided to give it another go.  So here are all the deets of my card :0)

Items Used
Silhouette Store - Echo Park Butterfly
Solid Carstock - My Scraps
Patterned Paper - Echo Park 4th of July Collection Kit
Sentiment - Computer Generated
White Gel Pen
Buttons - My stash

Well, I hope you all have liked my very first post that includes the use of my Cameo.  I am hoping to master it a little better so that I can enjoy my new toy :0)

Have a wonderful Fourth of July friends!!

Celebrate Freedom Blog Hop - Day Two

Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome back for Day 2 of The Celebrate Freedom Blog Hop!!  I would like to thank Lisa for hosting such a fun hop and for allowing me be a part of it!!  Thanks Lisa :0) There were so many wonderful projects on Day One, I am sure you were all inspired as much as I was with all the crafty goodness!!   So get ready to be inspired some more as we do it all over again for Day Two!  If you just happened to stumble onto my blog and would like to play along with us. Please do so by starting over at Lisa's Blog and join in on all the fun as we celebrate The Fourth of July.  If you came here from Tahi's Blog then you are right on track!

So for Day Two I decided to do a Party Decor Project.  At first I had planned on making this a wall hanging project.  But after I got started, I thought this would look great on a buffet table or dessert table for a Fourth of July get together.  So I went with that and I love the end result, hope you do too!! Here are all the details of my project.

Cartridges Used
Elegant Edges
Birthday Bash
Stand & Salute

Other Items Used
Solid Cardstock - Bazzill Basics (Evening Surf & Ruby Slippers) Recollections (White)
Patterned Paper - Creative Imaginations
Martha Stewart Glitter - Garnet
Stickles - Gold
Pigment Ink - Red (For the edges)
We R Memory Keepers - Fancy Floss
White Gel Pen
Pop Dots

In order to make a sturdy tabletop decoration, I knew I would have to use some type of chipboard.  Cardstock alone was not going to work. So instead of buying some, I recycled and I used cereal boxes!!  I cut the base twice and just glued them back to back, it's very sturdy now ;0)

Well I hope you have enjoyed my project for today and up next is the super talented Miranda!

But wait!! What's a blog hop without a little candy?!  As promised, here is what you can win!!

One lucky winner will win the following:

1. Chipboard Album
2. DCWV "Summer Dream" Specialty Sticker Stack
3. DCWV "Summer Dream" Mat Stack Papers (24 Different Patterns - 2 Sheets of each)
4. Craft Essentials "Red, White & Blue" Embellishments
5. Martha Stewart - Solid Twine (Red)

Just be a follower of my blog and leave me a comment with a way to get a hold of you! Remember, this was a 2 day hop so if you left a comment each day.  You have double the chance in winning! I will pick my winner on Sunday July 8th! :0) Good Luck Everyone!!

I am also entering this project in the following challenges...

Paper Playtime - Red, White and Blue
Fantabulous Cricut  - Challenge #118 Kaboom Firework Celebration

I'm still here :0)

Happy Thursday Crafty Friends!

Just a quick little post today, sorry that I have been a bit M.I.A. lately.  I haven’t had much time for crafting lately since I have been working overtime just about every week this past month.  When I do find a little time, I feel at a loss…. I have seemed to have lost my mojo (GASP!)  I hope that I can recover it real soon because I truly miss crafting!!  Perhaps the best way to get my mojo back is just to dive right in and start creating again.  So with that in mind, that’s pretty much what I am planning on doing this Memorial Day weekend.  Plus, I have so many new goodies that I purchased last weekend when I attended the Scrapbook Expo in Orlando, FL.  I am beyond anxious to start using them!!  Hopefully I can finish up a few new projects during my 3 day weekend so that I can have a chance to post them before the new work week starts again.  I also want to catch up on visiting some of my favorite blogs, I truly have missed all of you :0)
Thanks for stopping by!
