Cricut 360 - Challenge #5 - Transportation

Good morning crafty friends,

Happy Friday and welcome to another fabulous challenge over at Cricut 360! We would like to thank all of you who participate in our weekly challenges. We always love to see all your fabulous creations! Also, we have a lot of fun challenges coming up, so definitely keep checking back. This week’s challenge is to create a card or layout using a mode of transportation (Trains, Ships, Automobiles, Planes, etc.) I was super excited with this challenge and immediately knew what my project was going to be. I decided to make a birthday card for my boyfriend; his birthday is in 2 weeks. Since he loves vintage cars, I went with the Groovy Times Cartridge. I tried to keep it as simple as possible since it is a masculine card. I just love the way this card turned out and I can’t wait to give him the card! Here are the specifics:

Card Size 5 ½” x 5 ½”
Cartridges used: Groovy Times (Car & layers @ 2.95” and Mats @ 5.60” & 5.35”)
Solid Cardstock: Embossed Paper – Bazzill “Pistachio Nut” and all other are Recollections
Patterned Paper: Scraps
Sentiment: Computer - (outside of card) You’re not old - (inside of card) You’re a classic! Happy Birthday
Bling: My stash

This week's fabulous prize for one lucky winner will be a Basic Grey 6x6 Paper Pack "Ambrosia"

So get crafting and we look forward to seeing your creation!
 Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas in July Event - Day 6 - Wrap it, Tag it!

Good Morning Crafty Friends!!

I am back today with another holiday inspired project.  Thank goodness for events like this, it really has helped me get some holiday projects done well ahead of time.  Not to mention all the wonderful ideas & inspiration from all the fabulous guest designers who have participated.  Thanks again Giselle and Nadia for putting together this event!

For today's project I decided to go with a gift bag and a matching tag. I just LOVE to embellish gift bags, they are just so much fun to decorate! Since I live in Miami and we never get any snow here :0( I wanted my project to reflect what I would really love for the holidays...a White Christmas! I guess I will have to travel out of Florida to get my wish. But in the meantime I can enjoy all the snowmen & wintery effects through my project :0)  Hope you all like it!

Here are the details:
  • Kraft Gift Bag - 8" x 10 1/2" (Purchased @ Dollar Tree 2 for $1.00)
  • Cartridges used:
  • Winter Woodland (Snowmen & Layers @ 5.0" & 4.50"; Season's Greetings @ 2.30" with Shadow; and Tag @ 2.75")
  • Elegant Edges (Red Mat @ 9.25" & PP Mat @ 8.75"-used the Oblong Feature for both and used Gypsy to hide the scroll @ the bottom)
  • Solid Cardstock: Bazzill Papers
  • All Patterned Paper: Martha Stewart Holidays "Winter Wonderland" (purchased last Christmas @ Michael's)
  • Xyron Machine
  • Deco Art Glamour Dust
  • Deco Art Snow Writer
  • White & Red Gel Pens
  • Martha Stewart Bakers Twine
  • Martha Stewart-Snowflake Punch
  • Pop Dots
  • Bling
Hopefully we have achieved our goal and have been able to provide you with lots of fun projects for the upcoming holiday season!

Happy Holdays to all!!

Cricut 360 - Challenge #4 - The Great Outdoors

Good morning everyone,

It's Friday again and that means another fun challenge over at Cricut 360! So are you ready for this week’s challenge?! Our challenge this week is to create a card or layout with the "Great Outdoors" (Camping, Mountains, Or Farm) in mind and you can use any Cricut Cartridge for your project. So many of you are taking family vacations this time of year, why not get a jump start and do a layout for all those pictures you’ll be taking this summer. Perhaps, you need to work on having a few more of those last minute cards we always seem to need. What better challenge could there be than this one to get you all ready?! Still having a little trouble coming up with an idea? No problem, the Design Team and I have made some great projects and we would really love for you to come on over and check them out :0) I decided to go with a card this week and I really had a lot of fun making it. I really wanted to use my Create a Critter Cartridge. I just love this cartridge; there are so many cute little critters on here! So when I think of camping, I think of gathering by a fire and making s’mores….yumm!! So I came up with this cute little beaver roasting his marshmallow for a tasty and yummy s’more. Here are the details of my card:

Items Used
Cartridge Used: Create a Critter (Beaver, Fire logs, tree branch and flames)
Solid cardstock: Recollections
Patterned Paper: Recollections “The Great Outdoors”
Cuttlebug Folder: Forrest Branches
Martha Stewart: Baker’s Twine
Stickles: Orange Peel & Yellow
Tulip Puffy Paint (Used it on his marshmallow, and then used my heat gun to give it a melted look)
White Gel Pen
Sentiment-Computer Generated

So this week’s prize for one lucky winner is a super cute 6" Cricut Plush
Isn't he just the cutest?!

Please hop on over to Cricut 360 and check out all the other projects for more inspiration and please give this challenge a try. We would love to see what you come up with.

Christmas in July Event Day 2 - Treats & Favors

Hi Everyone,
Welcome back for Day 2 in the Christmas in July Event hosted by Giselle and Nadia.  Today is Treats & Favors Day and my project is a glass treat jar that I altered a bit to hold chocolate covered cadies or should I say Rudolph's Spare Noses :0)

Here are the specifics of my project.

  • Small Glass Jar w/Lid (Michael's - used a 40% coupon and it came out to $2.00)
  • Cartridge Used: Doodlecharms (Reindeer @ 3.00") & Elegant Edges (Lid Decoration @ 3.50")
  • Solid Cardstock: Bazzill (Classic Green & Classic Red)
  • Patterned Paper: Doodlebug (Christmas Kaleidiscope)
  • Fiskars Border Punch (Threading Water)
  • Glue Dots
  • Xyron Machine
  • Martha StewartGlitter: Garnet
  • Wobble Action Spring
  • White & Red Gel Pens
  • Red Rhinestones
  • Christmas Ribbon (My stash)
  • Chalks
  • Poem - From internet
I cut a 2 1/2" strip of 12 x 12 solid cardstock paper and used my border punch. Next I cut my pattern paper @ 1 3/4" from a 12 x 12 piece of paper and adhered it to my solid cardstock. I then used Glue Dots to adhere my paper to the glass and it worked perfectly. That way the glass jar can be re-used without ruining the glass jar. I used my Doodlecharms Cartridge for the image of Rudolph and used an Action Wobble...I just love the way it turned out. I found the poem online and printed it out on plain white cardstock and used a Red Gel Pen to stich around the edge. I then decorated the top of my lid and filled it with Red Colored Chocolate Candies. Ready for gift giving :0)

Hugs,
Diana

Cricut 360 - Challenge #3 - For Parents

Happy Friday Everyone! Are you all ready for another great challenge at Cricut 360 this week? Thanks so much for stopping by last week at Cricut 360 and playing along, we hope you had fun. Parents Day is July 24th so this week's challenge is to make a card, a layout or something crafty for them or as a tribute to them and you can use ANY cartridge.

I chose to make a layout as a tribute to them as they have both passed.  I have been wanting to catch up on my scrapbooking and thought this challenge would help do that.  I kept my layout & the colors kind of simple because I really wanted the photo to be the main focal point. Here are the items I used:
  • Carts used: Elegant Edges (Mats & Tag), Straight from the Nest (Scrolled Heart & Flourishes), and Sweethearts (Love)
  • Solid Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper - "Rocky Road" (Embossed) & French Vanilla and Recollections "Gold"
  • Patterned Paper: We R Memory Keepers "Grandma's Kitchen"
  • Ribbon: Michael's (Christmas Ribbon)
  • Tim Holtz Distress Ink - "Tea Dye"
  • Sentiment - Computer Generated
  • Prima Flowers - Tea Roses Snow
So now it's your turn, head over to Cricut 360 and show off your project for Parents Day!  While you're there don't forget to become a follower and become a fan on Facebook.  Want to see what the giveaway is this week...take a look:
